Starbucks has launched a new pilot program with the promise of thanking their "very best customers." Those proudly toting their Starbucks Gold Card will receive:
- Personalized Starbucks Gold Card
- Exclusive coffeehouse rewards - 2% cash back, reloaded back to the card.
- Exclusive coffeehouse treatment - Your regular beverage information and name is available to the Batista upon swiping the card.
- Exclusive access to a members-only website
- Other indulgences, like a treat on your birthday.
Starbucks presented the pilot program earlier this month to a group of "handpicked" customers with ego stroking language such as "Gold is a status you rightly deserve and will thoroughly enjoy." and "Enjoy the exclusive benefits, and the occasional look of envy."

what's rh purpose of this?
what are they trying to do?
They are trying to creat a 'class' of costumers that shouldn't exist in a coffe shop that was supose to be a place for people to be happy, and not envy.
I think if they are trying to make more money, they are choosing the wrong way, cause many people wont like it, and will just stop going to a place that dont follow their values.
